The Interloop knot

How to wear scarvesThe interloop knot is somewhat more complicated than most basic scarf knots, but the appearance is elegant and sophisticated.  It is a snug fitting knot best done using medium to light weight scarves.  To tie this knot, follow the instructions below.

1-Fold the scarf in half lengthwise
2-Drape the scarf over your neck
3-Put one loose end through the loop on the opposite side
4-Take the other loose end and put it through the loop created in step #3

To wear casually leave the knot slightly loose.  For a more formal appearance this knot may be worn flush to the neck.  Unlike many scarf knots, this knot may be worn slightly off center.

The European loop

How to wear scarvesThe European loop knot is best with thinner to medium thickness, long scarves.  Heavy scarves will create a large and unattractive knot.  This is a simple yet elegant knot that will quickly become one of your favorites. To tie this knot, follow the instructions below.

1-Fold the scarf lengthwise
2-Drape the scarf over your neck
3-Take the closed end of the scarf and open it like a loop
4-Take the two loose ends and put them through the loop
5-Pull the loose ends through the loop until you have achieved the desired tightness

For an elegant look, pull the loose ends until they are snug at the neck.  For a more casual look, leave the loop loose.  For a professional look regardless of the loop tightness, place both ends of the scarf inside of your coat or jacket.

The Square knot

2-Cross the long end over the short end
3-From behind bring the long end up and over to the front
4-Take the same end behind the other end leaving a small loop
5-Loop around and through the small loop
6-Pull both ends simultaneously to desired tightness

When completed, both ends should be equal in length.

Twice around ascot

1-Place the scarf around your neck leaving both ends equal
2-Take one side under the other
3-Insert over the top from the back

Some like the ends to be even.  In order to accomplish that you will need to experiment with the lengths for step #1.  The knot can hang high or low on your torso depending on the length of the scarf and personal preference.
